Senior Avionics Hardware - Robotics

Position Overview: 

  • Interact with the rest of the subsystem teams to gather systems requirements and analyse them thoroughly.

  • Development of Motor Driver and OBC for Robotic Arm, for space.

  • Manage a Product Development Lifecycle whilst taking into account the resources, quality and timeline.

  • Design and develop fault-tolerant embedded systems and power electronics hardware architectures and support in development of software architectures.

  • Write quick and dirty codes to support the development of the target subsystems.

  • Practice Agile Methodologies for Hardware Development which includes breaking down broader targets into weekly goals and continuous monitoring of progress by the means of sprints and stand-ups.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Bachelor's in related engineering fields.

  • 4+ Years of relevant experience in Electronics Product Design and Development.

  • Strong background in embedded systems and power electronics systems design and validations.

  • Ability to understand, review and modify Embedded C/C++ Firmware for RISC Architectures, such as C2000, ARM Cortex Mx, MSP430.

  • Proficiency with Mixed Signal Designs, Power Supply Designs, Analog Sensing and Filter designs.

  • Proficiency with selection of MCUs / DSPs / PSoCs / FPGAs pertaining to system requirements.

  • Proficiency with Digital Computing Systems Design and practical experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, RS485/422, Ethernet etc.

  • Familiarity with automated test equipment, Design Validation Process (DVP), hands on experience with high precision DMMs, MSOs, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers.

  • Practical experience with Industry Standards for Aerospace/Automotive Electronics and Electrical Systems.

  • Proficiency with any of the professional ECAD tools, such as Altium Designer for schematic and layout designs.

  • Proficiency with Simulation Tools such as LT-Spice, TINA, PSIM, MATLAB-SIMULINK.

  • Relevant Design Cycle Experience with DFMEA and FMECA / FMEDA processes as part of the iterative loop.

  • Practical design experience in tackling EMC - design for minimizing susceptibility and emission. Preferably complied with any industry relevant ISO / IEC / MIL standards for EMI / EMC.

  • Familiarity with classical control theory and signal/power integrity analysis.

  • Practical experience with Root Cause Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis.

  • Capability to structure, frame, generate and review ‘Design Files for Manufacturing’ (DFMs)

  • Familiarity with GUI development using MATLAB / LabView / Python.

  • Experience with git version control.

  • Proficiency with any of the Project Management Platforms such as JIRA, Asana, Airtable etc.

  • Heritage of deployed products in either safety critical Consumer electronics / Automotive / Aerospace domains.
