This is an early-career engineering role suited for a Mechanical Engineering graduate with strong fundamentals, good CAD skills, and an interest in hands-on product development.
Position Summary
The engineer will work closely with Design Engineers and other engineering teams on CAD modelling, engineering drawings, design calculations, documentation, manufacturing support, assembly, and testing.
Over time, the engineer will be expected to develop the capability to independently own the design of components and smaller assemblies.
Responsibilities
Must-Have Skills:
Good fundamentals in engineering mechanics, strength of materials, machine design, and mechanical engineering.
Good 3D CAD modelling and engineering drawing skills.
Familiarity with SolidWorks is preferred. Candidates with experience in Creo, CATIA, or similar professional CAD platforms are also encouraged to apply.
Basic understanding of GD&T, fits, tolerances, and engineering drawings.
Ability to perform basic mechanical engineering calculations and apply engineering fundamentals to practical design problems.
Basic understanding of engineering materials, fasteners, and standard mechanical components.
Awareness of common manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, turning, milling, fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
Ability to prepare clear engineering documentation and technical presentations.
Willingness to work hands-on with manufactured hardware during inspection, assembly, integration, and testing.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Good-to-Have Skills:
Prior internship or work experience involving mechanical design or product development.
Experience using SolidWorks for parts, assemblies, and drawings.
Basic exposure to ANSYS Structural or other FEA tools.
Exposure to GD&T and tolerance stack-up beyond academic coursework.
Experience working with machine shops or having components designed and manufactured as part of a project.
Prior exposure to the space or aerospace industry.
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Recent graduates and candidates with up to approximately one year of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
What We Look For
For this role, we do not expect candidates to already be experienced aerospace designers.
We are looking for someone with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, good CAD skills, curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to work with real hardware.
A strong candidate should be interested in understanding not only how to model a component, but also why it is designed that way, how it will be manufactured, how it will be inspected and assembled, and whether it performs as intended during testing.
The role is intended to develop the engineer from supporting component-level design activities toward independent ownership of components and smaller assemblies as their capability and experience grow.
